MOTHERING

I want my children to know
Their only safety is in you, Lord.
As I lay my hand on their throbbing heads
Or heaving chests, I pray they will sense
You through me.

It is the best I can give them that will last.
I want to be a link from You to them
That they can always find
When I am no longer there.

I put their hand regularly in Yours
And pray they will know what I know:
In the end - You are all there is to know,
Then I can go. J.S.

promise

God didn't promise
days without pain,
laughter without sorrow
or sun without rain.
But God did promise
strength for the day.
Comfort for the tears
and a light for the way.
And for all who believe
in His Kingdom (above.)
He answers the truth
with everlasting love!
